Saying Goodbye

Posted by huntersofhappiness
A week ago my Papa Mac passed away. He was one the greatest men I have ever known. He loved me unconditionally. He made me feel special and important. He was the most kind person I have ever known. He served others and gave selflessly without ever expecting anything in return. I will miss his loving hugs that filled me with an unexplained happiness, all of his stories of growing up on his horse and his wise advice. After Scott and I got married he was the last to wish me goodbye before our honeymoon. He told me that his honeymoon lasted 51 years and he hoped mine lasted even longer. He loved my grandmother more than words could explain. The only joy I feel from his passing is the knowledge that they are together again and that he is no longer in pain. Reflecting on his life of love and service this past week has helped me reevaluate what really matters in life and the person that I want to become. I’m so grateful that families are forever. That one day I will see him and my Nana again.
This was the gorgeous sunset out of my papa’s window the evening of his passing.
Although it was under poor circumstances, I was happy to spend a few days with my whole family (aunts, uncles and cousins included). I have one unbelievably amazing family.
After the funeral Saturday we needed something to lighten the mood so we went bowling. Believe it or not Scott and I had never been bowling together before…ever. We realized why quite quickly. Neither of are very good haha
How cute is my momma?
