    Two Dollar Decor

I LOVE the whole Valentine’s Day celebration. I love any reason to celebrate. I especially enjoy an occasion that focuses around two of my favorite things- Love and the color pink! So, of course I wanted to decorate our apartment with Valentines Decor. I searched at multiple stores for reasonably priced valentine’s decorations, but being on a newlywed budget, they all seemed a bit ridiculously priced.¬†I was¬†determined¬†to make my own for as cheap as possible. I think 2 dollars is pretty darn good! One Dollar packet of Construction Paper from the dollar store. (That’s 36 sheets for $1!) Then I took out all the pink, red and white pages.¬†I used heart…

    Slightly Banana

I went to make cute football cookies on Superbowl Sunday and of course, I had no eggs!¬† I asked a few neighbors and somehow they were all out too. I was about to breakdown and go to the store, but then I remembered that I had heard once you could substitute 1 ripe banana for 1 egg in a recipe. Scott thought it was a bad idea, but I was curious and luckily had two ripe bananas.¬† The result was possibly the best Chocolate, Slightly Banana, cookies I have ever tasted. Surprisingly moist and delicious. Soooooooo easy to make. Plus a little healthier right? So here’s my recipe for Chocolate,…

    Family

“A happy family is but an earlier heaven” -george bernard shaw Being married is like the best thing ever! I get to start my own little family. It doesn’t mean though that I miss my own family any less. I miss them ALL THE TIME. Thank goodness for technology that lets me talk and skype my family as often as I want. Sometimes though, I just want to be with them. So, I was beyond stoked when my mom told me they were going to a cabin in Colorado for President’s Day weekend and they wanted us to join. I can’t wait!! 8 days and counting ūüôā So here’s a little…

    First Style Post Ever…

So, I’ve always loved following fashion and style blogs and I’ve never thought that I was stylish enough to have my own. But some of my blogging friends (like Rachel over at Mr. JP and Me)¬†have inspired me. So, here I am doing my very first style post!¬† I’ve never really known what my style is. Probably because I like everything. What I wear one day will be completely different from the next day.¬†Maybe blogging will help me “find” my style.¬†Overall though, I guess I would call my style SIMPLE. Sweater: Jcrew ($49) Pants: Called to Surf ($60) Scarf: target (gifted) Watch: Francescas ¬†($20) Braclet: Jcrew (gifted) Boots: Nordstrom ($95)-…

    JAZZZZZY Monday

I don’t know about you, but I’m usually not the biggest fan of Mondays. ¬†But, yesterday was Monday, and yesterday was surprisingly super awesome.¬† First- The random guy in front of me at subway bought my sandwich and then ran away before I even got to the counter. So, thanks random guy for your good deed and for my free lunch.¬† Second- I took my stats test; even though I wasn’t one hundred percent ready; and rocked it! Third- Scott took me out to a cool little Thai¬†restaurant¬†by his work. Delicious! ¬†(it’s called Thai Evergreen and I give it two thumbs up if your looking for a delicious, lower priced,…

A Silly Outfit and a Super Weekend

What a weekend! It was PACKED with fun! First off, I have a new obsession. I love wearing my husbands clothes. Until now it has been 100% within our home, but last Thursday was a lazy day and I didn’t feel like taking my husbands sweatshirt off, so I didn’t. Husband thought I looked silly; it sure was comfy though! Friday night we went out to dinner with Scott’s cousins and attempted to go to the temple. We hadn’t done our research and it was closed. So we got frozen yogurt instead.¬† Saturday was GLORIOUS! One thing I have¬†regretted¬†this season is not taking more advantage of all this snow. One…

When it’s chilly we make chili

We’ve had lots of snow here in Provo the last few days. Unlike many, Scott and I love it. We’d be happy with two more feet!¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬†¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† Snow is¬†inherently connected to warm food. Hot Chocolate, breads, soups or in our case… chili.¬† I am impressing myself with my newly found cooking skills. Marriage does things to you I guess. I looked at a few different chili¬†recipes¬†to get the idea and then I came up with this recipe here all on my own!! It was surprisingly yummy and healthy. So I thought I’d share ¬†…

    Escaping the Inversion

There is this horrible thing that happens here in Utah during the winters, it is called an inversion. Basically the valley turns into a fish bowl and we (the hypothetical fish) swim around in our own filth (aka¬†pollution). It’s gross.¬† Inversion. So this weekend, we escaped the inversion. We went up Big Cottonwood Canyon to go sledding for Scott’s little brother’s 16th Birthday Party. It was a BLAST! I have always loved the snow and I will never stop loving the snow.¬† The sledding hill. It is a lot steeper than it looks. I promise.¬† Cool little cabin where we made a fire and ate party food We loved playing…

    Freezing Rain: hilarious and deadly

Today has been quite the new adventure for everyone here in Utah. We know all about snow, we’re basically experts on snow. Freezing rain on the other hand… ya we don’t know about that.¬†So I discovered that freezing rain basically means an invisible layer of ice on EVERYTHING!¬†Yes, it’s extremely dangerous and I myself struggled quite a bit getting up to campus. However, it is equally hilarious!! I didn’t have class and so I just stopped for a second and watched. Provo is basically an ice skating rink. People quickly figured out it was safer to slide than to walk (me included). The best was when you would start sliding…
