Since I had a week off between internships, we took a quick but awesome trip to southern California with our good friends. In fact, I had so much fun that I pretty much totally forgot to take any pictures. Oh well 🙂
We got there on Thursday night after a long drive and I hit the sack right away. Friday morning the boys went surfing and I tagged along so I could go on a morning run along the beach. The run was so beautiful and it was entertaining to watch the surfing.
Friday night we drove into downtown San Diego to spend the evening with my parents who happened to be vacationing in San Diego at the same time (we didn’t plan that and didn’t even realize we’d both be there until the week before). We ate at a delicious seafood restaurant on the marina.
Then we headed over to Mission Beach for dessert at my parents favorite spot. It’s called the Baked Bear and if you’re ever in San Diego this is a must! It’s a little build your own ice cream sandwich shop that’s delicious and well priced. Also, they have delicious gluten-free cookies!! YAY.
^This was my gluten-free chocolate chip cookie birthday cake ice cream sandwich^
And Scott got a Brownie mint chocolate chip sandwich
Saturday we spent alllll day at the beach. It was heaven.
We played in the waves, boogie boarded, napped, threw the football around and just enjoyed the ocean.
See the cute S+E heart in the sand that Scott drew? haha love him
What a wonderful week at the beach. Now back to real life!
