Weekend Staycation – Deer Valley and SLC

The last few months have been the hardest of my life and so a few weekends ago we decided to getaway for the weekend. We spend Friday and Saturday in Deer Valley. It was the first time I had ever been there (I don’t know why!) and it was SO gorgeous and SO much fun!

I can never get a serious face for selfies with this guy 🙂

I love him SO much! I don’t know what I’d do without him!

Before we left, I did my research to find the best places to eat in Park City and we dicided to go with a top rated Mexican place with unreal prices. Needless to say we found our new favorite Mexican restaurant! Scott was like a little kid in a candy store. So, if you’re ever in park city you HAVE TO go to El Chubasco!

This was my AMAZING verde pork buritto!

Scott didn’t stop talking about his gigantic fish tacos.

We stayed at the Chateaux at Deer Valley because there was a groupon deal for it, but it was wonderful! I loved having a fireplace in our room (and a microwave for my popcorn addiction) and the bed was heaven!

The complementary breakfast in the morning was also amazing. It might have been the best bacon I’ve ever had…

We spend a good amount of time at the hot tub. The plus to going off season is that you get the whole pool to yourself!

Saturday evening, after lots of fun and exploring, we headed down to Salt Lake City.

We stayed at one of our favorite places – The Little America! They’ve recently renovated everything and it looks gorgeous!

I loved the blue accents everywhere!

We also had the most amazing view!

Downtown Salt Lake is one of my favorite places in the whole world! It makes me so happy to be there!

Pre-pool picture – we were so happy it was finally warm enough to hang out at the pool! It had been so rainy for weeks before.

We spend some time shopping and walking around City Creek and I caved and bought my first “Bath Bomb”. I used it the next morning at the hotel since they had a large fun tub. I’m now a fan of the bath bombs!

Sunday morning we grabbed a quick breakfast at the hotel before heading home.

It was such a wonderful weekend and exactlly what I needed! Here’s to more summer adventures!

so fun! i swear these little weekend getaways are necessary for people to stay sane! and utah is the perfect place to do it! park city and downtown SLC are the best stay cations! also, el chubasco is my favorite restaurant! their salsa bar is what dreams are made of!!! best pico de gallo ever and i wish i could find that salsa chipotle somewhere closer! we've resorted to just buying a pint of it every time we go! ugh i could talk about that place forever. and i love lush bath bombs – so amazing!!!

First of all YAY FOR BATH BOMBS. They are seriously my very favorite thing. All of Lush is amazing, but bath bombs have my heart. Well, the bubble bars are cool too though, you'll have to try one of those next time. Also we went to Deer Valley last year for our annivesary and it was amazing! If you go to the ski resort (I think it's called Deer Valley? Idk) you can take the ski lift to the top of the mountain and then hike down! Anyway, I'm definitely adding that mexican place to my list because I don't know any good places in Park City! Thanks for the tip!xoxoeEmmyJake

All those mountain pictures are love. It's always good for the heart and mind to get away. I’m sorry to hear you’ve been having such a hard time lately though. I hope things begin to get easier and you enter into a peaceful and joyous time this summer.
