Lila’s Under the Sea Birthday Party

This past weekend we celebrated Lila’s second birthday! She is obsessed with all things water (mainly whale, fish, turtles and dory) so we decided on an under the sea theme! She LOVED it and it was such a special day with family and friends!
Almost all of the decorations are from Zurchers Party Store unless otherwise noted!
Lila loves when Crush the sea turtle says Coo Coo Ca Choo in Finding Nemo so that’s where we got the idea for this wall. The 3D streamers for the backdrop come in a pack of 12 HERE and the Lila is 2 balloons you can buy HERE. I made the coo coo ca choo letters from poster board and then painted them pink and hung them with string! I made the hanging jellyfish from lanterns and streamers from Zurchers. I crunched the streamers a bit to make them look more jelly fish like 🙂
The hit of the party was this jaw-droppingly gorgeous cake from Sugar Rush Utah. Emerlie is incredibly talented! Not only was this the most gorgeous cake I’d ever seen, it also tasted SOOOOO good!
Look at all those little gorgeous details on the cake!!!
Lila is OBSESSED with whales and so Emerlie added a whale tail on the top and Lila couldn’t stop talking about it.
I used streamers to make seaweed down the hallway and cut out these fish from pastel colored paper to create an underwater feel from the moment you walked into the party!
Balloon garlands are just so fun and such an affordable way to make your party look nice! I shared my tips on how to make a balloon garland on my instagram stories and saved it to my parties highlight! Make sure to buy balloon strip, a balloon hand pump and command hooks (this style and size are the best) to make the process painless!
I also made some seashell crowns for Lila and her friends! I bought a little bag of shells at Zurchers and then some headbands from the dollar store. I just hot glued the shells onto the headbands and it worked great!
I had fun getting creative with the food too! This is what I made and what I called it
Crabwitches – Croissant Sandwiches
Peanut Butter Jelly Fish- Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwiches cut with a fish cookie cutter
Sea Foam- Fruit dip
Seaweed- Green Grapes on a skewer
Crab legs – baby carrots
sea cucumbers – cucumbers haha
kelp dip – Guac
Shark teeth- Tortilla chips
