DIY Anthropologie Mirror Dupe

I fell so hard for Anthropologie’s Demeter Arch mirror. Its intricate gold leaf detail and arch design were exactly what I wanted but at a price tag I just couldn’t justify. Inspired, I set out to create a DIY version for our newly renovated closet. While the process was undoubtedly tedious (seriously, we made hundreds of gold leaves!), I couldn’t be happier with the results. Here’s how you can recreate this gorgeous mirror at home.

  • Alumilite Amazing Casting Resin (16-Ounce)
  • Leaf Fondant Molds
  • AMACO Rub n Buff Wax Metallic Finish 3 Color Kit
  • Mirror (we used ZMYCZ Mirror Full Length)
  • Construction adhesive
  • Wire cutters
  • Scissors

Step 1:
Mix epoxy and pour into leaf-shaped molds. We used Alumilite Amazing Casting Resin and these Leaf Fondant Molds.

Step 2:
Once the epoxy has hardened, remove the leaves from the molds. Wait approximately 10-15 minutes for the epoxy to set before carefully removing the leaves to ensure they maintain their details

Step 3:
Cut the epoxy leaves off the stem to create individual pieces. Using sharp scissors or wire cutters, trim the leaves from the stem, creating standalone leaves.

Step 4:
Paint and rub the leaves with Rub n’ Buff to make them look like they’re made of metal. I used the the AMACO Rub n Buff Wax Metallic Finish kit from Amazon.

Step 5:
Trim one corner of the leaves so they fit flat against the mirror. I used this Arched Floor Mirror.

Step 6:
Use construction adhesive to secure the leaves to the mirror. Our mirror had a lip, so we put glue on the lip and then laid the leaves down

Step 7:
After allowing the adhesive to fully cure, we applied another layer of Rub n’ Buff to blend any visible glue.

Step 8:
Hang your beautiful mirror!

I love it so so much it’s not an exact replica of the anthropology mirror the leaves are a bit smaller, but I think for this tight space it is absolutely perfect and I love how it turned out. What do you think? Would you make this?
